World Doctor's Day
India celebrates National Doctor's Day on July 1 every year to recognise and honour the contributions of doctors for the well-being of society and to create awareness about the important role they play in saving lives and promoting public health.
The Day marks the birth anniversary and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, one of India's most renowned physicians. Also known as the "Maker of Modern West Bengal," Dr Roy served as the second Chief Minister of West Bengal , and played a pivotal role in the establishment of several medical institutions. His relentless efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and enhance medical education in India made him a legendary figure in the field of medicine.
Dr Roy is also a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
Students of grade VII made the most of their class assembly as an opportunity to thank doctors for their dedicated services and highlighted the importance of their role in our lives by performing a skit ,they also swayed and tapped their feet to the "Thank you Doctor " song.
We thank all doctors who work toward improving the lives of their patients and communities.”
