Malala Day
On July 12th, we honored the remarkable Malala Yousafzai, a true inspiration and the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. She tirelessly fights for women's right to education worldwide.
At just 11 years old, Malala fearlessly began advocating for girls' education, even in the face of the Taliban's opposition to women's rights. She bravely spoke out alongside her father, and as a result, she was tragically shot by a Taliban gunman. However, after nine months of recovery, Malala delivered an unforgettable speech at the UN headquarters on her 16th birthday, July 12. These incredible events led the United Nations to officially declare this day as a celebration of her activism.
